Wood's Vermont Maple Syrup - Ghost Pepper
Not for the faint of heart!
Sweet and spicy, this brow-raising infused syrup is an open door for food and drink creatives. Ghost Pepper extract (made by a friend in Maine with real peppers) isn't just spicy, it's part fruity - part smoky and adds an intriguing flavor to traditional syrup.
If you can stand the slow building heat that ends in the drop of a hammer there's no telling in how many places you'll pour this syrup. Sweet and spicy Asian noodles. Slow cooked pork belly. A mixed drink or two. How to use Ghosted syrup is up to you!
Ingredients: courage, maple syrup, and real ghost pepper extract.
We met the exuberant Al Wood (pictured at right) at a New England Made tade show back in 2015. We loved his good energy and his quality maple syrup, something that has been part of his family’s tradition since 1920. We carry several of Wood’s varieties, and they are each distinct and flavorful, although none of the flavors overshadow the good rich syrup that is the base of his excellent products. We have seen other good New England syrup companies take on flavorings over the years, but none has the heart and soul we have come to expect when Wood’s is on the label.
